FAQs

What is a wax melt?

Wax melts are scented pieces of wax without a wick. You simply take your wax melt, place it in your warmer and using an unscented 4 hour tea light, light your tea light or, if your warmer is electric, turn it on. As the wax melts it releases the fragrance, filling your home with its beautiful aroma. Due to there being no wick, the wax does not disappear like a candle. Instead, when your ready to change your melt and it has lost its scent, you remove the wax residue from the melter using cotton wool and replace it with a fresh wax melt.

How much wax should i use?

1 segment or 1-2 hearts depending on the size of your burner, how strong you want the scent and also, the size of your room.

What glitter do you use?

We use a combination of cosmetic glitter and biodegradable glitter, this ensures our products are safe to use. As more biodegradable glitter options become available, we will be gradually changing over from cosmetic glitter.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Our clamshells are manufactured in the UK. Not only are they 100% recyclable, they are also made with 88% recycled plastic. Our glassine bags are fully recyclable, compostable and biodegradable.

Is there any safety advice when using wax melts?

To prevent fire and serious injury:

  • Always keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Only use in warmers approved for wax melts.
  • Remove all packaging before using.
  • Do not add water.
  • Always use with a 4 hour maximum unscented tea light. A tea light that burns for longer than this will increase the risk of the burner over heating.
  • Regularly check the warmer for any damage, including hairline cracks.
  • Never heat on a surface/near anything that can catch fire.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Do not move when lit.
  • Keep away from draughts and vibrations.

What does CLP mean?

CLP is the European Regulation on Classification, Labelling and Packaging. It became law in the UK in June 2015. It is a legislation that all home fragrance suppliers have to comply with to sell their products legally in the UK. CLP applies to all products containing a hazardous substance, such as fragrance or essential oil. The information on each CLP label will include:

  • Warning pictograms and information.
  • Allergen information/ingredients.
  • Product identifier/fragrance name.
  • Supplier name, address/postcode, telephone number.

All ReddRobe Wax products are CLP compliant and we are fully insured. You can find the CLP information for each scent below each items description.
